Local PGA Tour professional golfer Robert Allenby will host the second annual “Bluewater Golf and Fishing Invitational Tournament” April 27 through April 29 to benefit special needs kids and children with cancer in Palm Beach County. There will be a fishing tournament, golf tournament and gala awards dinner to enjoy.

The tournament will consist of a Captain’s Meeting at the Admiral’s Cove West Clubhouse on Friday, April 27, followed by a full day of deep sea fishing Saturday, April 28.

After fishing, there will be a Gala Dinner complete with a live band, a silent and a live auction where Robert Allenby will host guests at the Admiral’s Cove East Clubhouse.

That Sunday will bring the golf tournament at the Bear’s Club, a Jack Nicklaus designed golf course. There will be 24 foursomes in the tournament. Each team will pay $3,800, which will include four entries into the golf and fishing tournament along with tickets for the four participants and a guest to attend the Captain’s Meeting on Friday night and the Saturday Evening Gala Dinner and Auction.

Individuals who only want to fish can enter the Fishing Tournament on April 28. A boat with four anglers costs $1,200, and includes tickets for each of the four anglers to attend the Captain’s Meeting and Gala Dinner.

“I am proud to call Jupiter home, and want to be able to give back to the Palm Beach County community,” states Robert Allenby. “The best way to accomplish this is to do two things that I love, play golf and fish with people who also want to help kids.”

Allenby is known worldwide as one of the top golfers in the world, but very few people know about his commitment and dedication to helping kids with disabilities and medical complications.

“When I was young, I watched one of my good friends pass away from Leukemia and I will never forget it,” Allenby said. “What my friend had to endure melted my heart and encouraged me to do whatever I could to help children with debilitating illnesses and special needs.”
